Community Support Workers - Beerwah
About the Role:
Beerwah -We present an exciting opportunity for Community Support Workers to join our team in Beerwah, QLD. We’re looking for compassionate, energetic, and reliable individuals who are passionate about supporting people with disabilities. This role involves supporting two young adult brothers who live with hereditary spastic paraplegia. Both use walkers or wheelchairs for mobility and communicate through assistive devices, sign language, and their vibrant sense of humour in both English and German. You’ll be providing essential care and helping these young men live active, independent lives in a positive and supportive environment.

Full Time
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with daily activities and routines, including outings and community engagement.
Building a strong rapport with the individuals and their family.
Supporting communication through assistive devices and sign language.
Maintaining a structured and safe environment.
Encouraging independence while ensuring safety.
Shifts Available:
Half days: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM (6 hours) or 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (4 hours).
Full days: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (10 hours with a 1-hour break).
Mondays and Fridays are priority days for coverage.

Requirements:
Experience or passion for working with individuals with disabilities.
Ability to commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per week.
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn assistive communication techniques.
A valid driver’s license (preferred, but not mandatory).
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable:
Male support workers are encouraged to apply (though applicants of all genders are welcome).
Knowledge of German or sign language is a plus but not essential.
