Community Support Worker - Wollert
About the Role:
Melbourne - Community Support Workers needed to join our team in Wollert (City of Whittlesea), providing high-quality care for a client living with a complex disability, including Spinal cord injury, brain injury, quadriplegia, and Bulbar Dysfunction.
You will be working alongside a registered nurse during each shift to ensure comprehensive care and support is delivered.
This is a 7 days per week care environment and we are looking for casuals to join our care team. Two shifts per day are available -
SHIFT 1 - 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM and
SHIFT 2 - 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
We are looking for each staff member to do at least 3 x 6 hour shifts per week (18 hours of work) across 7 days, you get to choose your preferred shift time and day of week and we will try to accommodate your preferences where possible.
No previous experience is required, as full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
The recruitment process includes two interviews:
An initial interview with the recruiter
A second with the Family.

Role responsibilities:
Deliver support care to client with a high complex of disability
Provide High care including domestic assistance, meal preparation, PEG Feeding, complex Bowel care, manual handling and companionship.
Work under the guidance of the registered nurse.
Support clients in our community needing assistance with social support, transport to appointments, shopping or community outings.
Provide personal care to clients with dignity and respect such as assisting with showering, grooming and dressing.
What we are looking for:
A passionate, caring and empathetic personality is a MUST.
Fluent in English and very clear communicator
Certificate III or IV in Community, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent is highly desirable.
A registered and insured vehicle
A valid full or probationary Australian driver's license
Willingness to learn new skills on the job through training.
Experience in either aged care or community is highly desirable.
Current First Aid & CPR certificate (mandatory) or willing to obtain.
Current Police Check (mandatory) or willing to obtain.
NDIS Worker screening check or willing to obtain.
Working with Children Check or willing to obtain.
