Finance Manager - Sydney

Sydney - This role will be responsible for the financial and management accounting function for the Aged Care division and support Aged Care teams. This is a broad role focusing on accounting and business partnering within a fast-paced and dynamic environment and requires an individual who has a continuous improvement mindset, displays significant initiative, great prioritisation and time management skills, has an eye for detail and is a team player.

Responsibilities of the Role:
Own and support timely month-end close across the Aged Care division and contribute to the preparation of monthly management reporting for the board and operational stakeholders.
Own and support timely preparation and submission of quarterly and annual financial reports to the Department of Health and Aged Care and compliance with other agencies.
Partner with Aged Care operating division to establish and maintain accurate KPI reporting and assist with revenue improvements and cost efficiency initiatives.
Actively participate and support the audit and tax process under the coordination of a senior corporate accountant.
Facilitate complete, accurate and timely management of all reporting requirements, both financial and operational/compliance.
Maintain financial systems, automate and improve processes and support with the development and maintenance of internal controls.
Working closely with AP, AR and Payroll on all Aged Care related matters.
Develop, document and ensure compliance with business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Develop and maintain strong active working relationships with people across the group and external advisors to promote collaborative problem-solving.
Essential Criteria:
A relevant tertiary accounting qualification and completion of a Chartered Accountant or CPA program are essential.
Five years minimum post-qualification accounting experience, preferably a blend of both professional services and corporate experience.
Highly developed technical accounting skills – including demonstrated experience in managing/continuously improving internal controls, and demonstrable experience in managing internal/external financial reporting and management accounting.
Solid interpersonal and relationship management skills demonstrated through building and developing productive and collaborative working relationships.
Demonstrable experience managing effective working relationships with finance and operational stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage key deliverables and engage stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
Sound computer literacy in Microsoft products, particularly Excel as well as established accounting packages.
Strong awareness of balancing the commercial needs of the business with financial reporting requirements.
Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
