Support Worker (SLHD Out of Hospital Care)

About the Role:

Lumia Care company presents an exciting opportunity for Support Workers to assist our Out of Hospital Care (Greek, Italian, Mandarin, Cantonese and Arabic) clients living at home in Inner West (Concord, Burwood, Marrickville, Ashfield), Inner City  (Leichhardt, Annandale Waterloo, Pyrmont, Redfern) and Canterbury-Bankstown (Lakemba, Campsie, Canterbury, Roselands) areas of Sydney.

Wide variety of shifts available Monday – Friday 7am- 5pm  

What we're looking for: 

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Aged Care (highly regarded) 

• Experience in either aged care, disability, community a MUST. 

• Strong communication and observational skills 

• Patience, reliability, and a gentle approach to care

• Current driver’s license and reliable vehicle (essential) 

• Confident in speaking and understanding Greek, Italian, Mandarin, Cantonese or Arabic is a MUST. 

Role responsibilities: 

• Support clients in our community needing assistance with social support, transport to appointments, shopping or community outings. 

• Provide personal care to clients with dignity and respect such as assisting with showering, grooming and dressing. 

• Continue to support clients to live in their own home by providing help with their domestic assistance, meal preparation and most importantly, companionship. 

Mandatory Requirements: 

• Current First Aid Certificate 

• Police Check 

• NDIS Worker Screening Check 

• Working with Children Check 

• Full Australian Work Rights 

• TB Screening, DTPA, Hepatitis B, MMR and Varicella vaccinations
